What we do, and what we never do
A companion relays and explains. Anything that needs a licence or a professional judgement goes to the people licensed to make it, and we never take a commission for pointing you there.
What your companion does

- Goes with you to hospitals, offices and inspectionsStaff's words into your language, your words into Korean
- Writes up your next steps afterwardsSummary and checklist by email or chat
- Makes Korean phone calls and writes emails for youCarrier, utilities, real estate office, clinic bookings
What your companion never does
- Prepare or file immigration paperwork for a feeAlien Registration and visa extensions are filed by you. Complex cases go to a licensed administrative agent (행정사), with no referral fee

Frequently asked questions
How do I pay from outside Korea?
We reply to your inquiry with a payment link in Korean won that accepts international Visa and Mastercard. Payment must be completed before departure for a companion to be assigned. If the link does not work with your card, tell us and we will offer an alternative.
Can you register me at immigration or extend my visa?
No. Under Korean law only licensed administrative agents may prepare and file immigration documents for a fee. You book your Hi Korea appointment and file the Alien Registration yourself. Your companion sits beside you, interprets, and helps you understand which documents are needed. For complicated cases we can point you to a licensed agent, and we take no fee for that.
Can I choose my companion?
Tell us your preferences (gender, age range, city, languages) in the form and we match accordingly. After assignment you may ask for one replacement.
Which languages do you cover?
English today. Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese companions and pages are being prepared. If your language is not listed, write it in the form and we will tell you honestly whether we can match you.
Do you do sightseeing or tours?
No. Paid tourist guiding in Korea requires a licensed tourist interpreter guide, so this site sells settlement companion and remote services only.
Can you find me an apartment or a job?
No. Brokering a lease or placing someone in a job for a fee each needs a separate licence in Korea. You search listings and job ads yourself. We accompany you to housing inspections, interpret the contract, edit your CV and run a mock interview.
Airport pickup?
Companions do not drive. Meeting you at the airport railway station and riding the train together is possible. If you need a car, we can point you to a licensed service.
What if I cancel?
Full refund up to 48 hours before the start, 50% up to 24 hours before, no refund after that. If your companion cancels, you get a full refund or a replacement companion.
